ONI Denim [Workwear Series] 547DIZR “Dark Indigo Secret Denim” 20oz Triple Stitched Semi-Tight Straight Jeans

With this piece of the new Workwear Series, Oni has entered in the ultra-sturdy workwear world, adding a triple chainstitching construction.

The Secret Denim Dark Indigo fabric has a darker indigo warp and a lighter beige weft than the original secret denim. One of the most important types of denim in recent years has been Oni’s Secret Denim. First launched in 2012, the Secret Denim has been one of the most desirable denim fabrics by Denim Heads around the world due to its unique texture and incredible softness and comfort. This new dark indigo version features a deep indigo colour. It is a bit rougher and more rigid than the standard secret denim, but it maintains all the standard version’s slub and hair. If you are looking for faster and more contrasted fades and love the superb texture of the secret denim, there is no better option than this fabric. Only Oishi-San can produce this denim, and no one else can reproduce it. He uses extra-thick yarns of three different kinds of cotton woven at ultra-low tension on a vintage shuttle loom. The result is a beefier, extremely knotty unsanforized 20oz fabric with a fantastic slubby and hairy texture.

The warp yarn is dark indigo rope-dyed. The weft yarn is light beige dyed cotton. The fading potential is incredible and will showcase super fast and high contrasted fades.

The jeans are made with all the superior-quality ONI details such as copper buttons, high-quality pocket bags, heavy-duty bar tacks and a custom veg-tanned deerskin leather patch. Apart from the triple chainstitching construction mentioned above.

The cut is the ONI’s 547 semi-tight straight, a silhouette that does not apply much taper to a neat fit.

*Please, keep in mind that, due to low tension, “Secret Denim” fabric will stretch quite a bit, so if your jeans are a tight fit at the start, don’t worry because after just a few uses you will have gained the perfect fit.

The legend of ONI is alive to this day. In recent years Oishi-San has devoted himself to experimenting with widely varying grammages, rough textures, different indigo dyeing techniques and novelty cuts while always maintaining a very limited production and wielding his experience in denim which now goes back more than 60 years.
